Brian Meyers After falling short of a team berth in the state meet last fall, the Roseville Area High School girls cross country team is determined to prevent that from happening again this season. The Raiders had qualified for state as a team five years in a row before last year.

The older girls definitely want to be back. They trained a lot over the summer and we've got some new blood so that's helping too. Senior Hanna Torvi, junior Naomi Boehm and sophomore Samantha Kurkowski all went to state last year and have made multiple state appearances.

Boehm has yet to miss a state cross country meet since her first year on varsity as a seventh grader. She ran on Roseville's state teams inand and last year qualified as an individual. Kurkowski's state appearance last year was her second after also running at state in Torvi ran in her first cross country state meet last year but has also made state in Nordic ski racing.

Two other runners who didn't compete in cross country at Roseville last year are on the team this year and should complete the Raiders' top five.

Senior Lindsey Lee missed the season because of injury but ran at state the previous three seasons. Senior Sarah Conlon is new to Roseville cross country after transferring last year. She competed on Roseville's track and field team this spring and qualified for state in the 3, meters.
