The outside temperature was at the freezing point for most of the day and night. The inside temperature was just a little warmer that outside.
The thermostat is in the owners' house and a guest has no control over the temperature. If you don't mind a cold place then go in cold weather, otherwise I strongly suggest you not stay at this place in cold weather. My wife and I left after the first night and we are trying to get a refund for the additional three nights we booked. I requested a refund but I have not received a response from the owner, Guus.
A small and cozy house with all the comforts of home. We received a warm welcome of Guus and Betty. Betty even treated us with coffee and cake. During our stay we got tips and nice advice. If you like quietness, nature and a friendly service, we definitely recommend to stay there.
Guus and Betty are friendly and welcoming and you may get baked treats! Going for walks in the woods with my children was wonderful and I shall miss that. My daughters will miss the wide open spaces to play in.Seats2meet com Introduction to the Concept
While a lovely place to stay for a few days, it was slightly challenging for a family of four to stay for a month, as it is a very cosy place with limited space for cooking for a family. I highly recommend this accommodation for short stays in the countryside, particularly if it is for a holiday and not for "normal life" with work and school etc. Thanks, Guus and Betty, for your wonderful hospitality and kindness. We shall always appreciate it.
Everything is exactly as advertised, and it's great value.

Sharma in front of the wicket. File and the new batsman R. Poort looked focused and determined to build up a stable partnership. After taking his time to settle down, A.
But very soon he let the stumps go for a walk as he missed the ball completely while trying to hit another big shot off Phritivi, who claimed his first wicket. After a decent 24 run partnership with G. Poort was caught at midwicket by Phritivi while he tried to flick the ball off the pads in F. A couple of dropped catches by Rahim at mid-off allowed the new batsman D. Sharma, along with G. Hoffmann, to put a solid 24 run partnership. In the next over, D.
Sharma was caught and bowled by Anirudh. After this, Hengelo were looking to restrict Kampong under runs. Having restricted Kampong to just runs, Hengelo had to get runs in 40 overs to record its 4th victory of the season. The opening batsman, Abhishek, displayed a solid performance and added quick runs to the scoreboard in the first few overs, while his partner Pramod played steadily and supported him from the other end.
Abhishek knicked a ball to the keeper and did not walk out as the umpire Rahim rejected the strong appeal from the players [in fact it was the Kampong players themselves who withdrew their appeal as they knew there was NO edge, something lost on the author who was seated outside the boundary - editor].
The partnership was soon broken when Pramod mis-timed a pull shot and the fielder at square-leg made no mistake in catching the ball. The two new batsmen at crease, Krishna and Adithya, were playing sensible innings and looked stable enough to reach the target without any help from the middle order. Adithya, however, continued to display a steady performance with his new partner Prithivi.
The pair added 32 runs to the board before Adithya was stumped as he completely missed the ball while trying to clear the boundary. Although three more wickets were lost, the target was easily reached as batsmen were adding runs to the scoreboard constantly. Now that the score isboth teams look forward to meeting each other in the last and deciding match to be played on 7th August at Kampong Utrecht.
Almere Alligators 1 vs. Hengelo 1 Email 12th June Almere Alligators 1 won by 27 runs, by Abhishek Talele In their 5th match, Hengelo 1 were playing against Almere alligators on their so-called cricket ground [the author is referring to the size of the Almere ground, much smaller than anything we've ever come across - editor].
Almere Alligators won the toss and elected to bat first, opening their batting in aggressive style with Mumtaz and Q. From the other end, Akshay started his bowling spell by gifting extra runs to Almere Alligators in the form of wides. Gondal came in and started playing his shots immediately. Suddenly, rain interrupted the match and we had to stop the game. We lost almost 90 minutes waiting for the rain to stop and to start the match again.
So both captains decided to play a reduced over match to get a result and we restarted the match around 4: Keeping the wet and slippery field conditions in mind, captain Rahim started the new spell with spinners Pramod and Anirudh. Before the new batsman J. Gondal could build a partnership, Abhishek provided the breakthrough by running out J. Bajwa made a fast run partnership, with A.
Gondal scoring his half century. Brits made important contributions of 36 and 25 runs not out respectively, but Safi and Febin took immediate wickets with the help of catches taken by Abhishek at point, thus saving some runs for Hengelo. In the end, Almere Alligators managed to score with the help of 34 extras in 30 overs. Hengelo 1 needed to chase down the target with the required run rate at almost 8 runs per over.
Hengelo opened the batting with Abhishek and Anirudh. Almere Alligators attacked with their opening bowling pair B. Keeping the pressure situation in mind, Abhishek started with a beautiful straight drive and a cover drive in the first over.
At the other end, Anirudh was struggling to face the opening bowlers and J. Next, Pramod came in and started playing carefully in a supporting role from one end. From the other end, Abhishek played his strokes and added two more boundaries to manage the required run rate. Just as all was going well, Abhishek 19 got a big edge and J. In the later stages, vice-captain Adithya was playing very well from one end.
Once again, when it looked like everything was going right, B. Bajwa was successful in breaking the partnership between Adithya and Safi at the right moment.
Safi scored a much needed 32 runs [including some very big 6s!! Immediately after, Adithya was bowled by Q. The tail-enders tried their best with Prithvi and Akshay scoring a few sixes but failed in the end.
Hengelo were bowled out for in 30 overs with the help of 29 extras and Almere Alligators managed to win the match by 27 runs. I hope Hengelo fixes their mistakes in the next match. Hengelo 2 Email 5th June Hercules 2 won by 5 wickets, by Chodimella Venkata Pramod Sunday, the 5th of June looked like a perfect sunny day for Hengelo 2 to play their away game against Hercules in Utrecht.
Hengelo 2 captain, Raghu won the toss and elected to bat first, hoping the batsmen do well on a nice ground with a fast outfield, even though the wicket was a little slow. Diederik and Sander opened the batting for Hengelo 2. Both batsmen played sensibly, with Diederik finding the boundary on every possible occasion. Hercules were conceding too many extras in this partnership until Sander was caught behind in the 9th over of the innings when the score was on After the fall of first wicket, Pramod joined Diederik and together, they continued to play until the 20th over, after which Pramod was caught behind.
Soon after, Hengelo 2 collapsed and the team was all out forshowing the inconsistency of the batting line up. The top scorer in the Hengelo 2 innings was Diederik, who was on 42 when given out lbw in the 22nd over. After a quick lunch, Hercules started their innings and Hengelo 2 opened the bowling with John Kloppenburg. With a small target to defend, Hengelo 2 picked up the first wicket in the very first over when John had the Hercules opener, Tanveer, drag the ball onto his stumps.
However, the guests could not grab wickets in quick succession, allowing the hosts to settle down. Although the bowling changes worked for a while - with captain Raghu himself taking two back-to-back wickets and creating some interest in the match - the Hercules team achieved the small target quite comfortably in 38 overs with 5 wickets remaining.
Hengelo 1 Email 5th June Hengelo 1 won by 7 wickets, by Edoardo Mazzi On a sunny day, Hengelo 1 got their third win in a row to keep alive their aspirations to promote to the second class. The home side of HMS had no chance against Hengelo 1, who won by 7 wickets without much difficulty. Unfortunately the toss was won by the home team and they elected to bat first a result which pleased Hengelo 1 as they realised that the pitch would be tricky to bat on. They bowled very well using their stock ball to contain runs and variations to remove the HMS opening batsmen.
Rahim bowled the first opponent batsman in the 7th over with 22 runs on the scoreboard for HMS. The rest of the batsmen did not show much resistance during the innings, losing wickets regularly. Febin and Phrithivi replaced the opening bowlers with great spells, finishing with 9 runs in 5 overs and 4 runs in 4 overs and 2 wickets respectively.
Only Jawalapersad scored boundaries and was the only batsman with more than 10 runs for HMS, helped by a bit of relaxation of the away team and also by the use of spinners for Hengelo. Anirudh and Edoardo, in fact, in the middle overs of the first innings conceded some runs but took a combined 4 wickets 2 each. The highest scorer for the home side, the Hengelo extras 37allowed HMS to reach 98 runs all out in 38 overs.
A very good first innings for Hengelo with a lot of excellent overs, but with a little too many extras mostly at the end of the innings, otherwise it would have been a perfect innings.
With less than 2. The beginning was very aggressive with 7 runs in the first over, but unfortunately both the opening batsmen were out after 5 overs for 30 runs.
Krishna helped Edoardo to score the last runs and to allow Hengelo to bring home two more points. Another convincing victory for Hengelo 1, who can approach the next games with confidence without fear of any opponent. This match was also a special day for Edoardo who finishes his season for Hengelo in advance to return to Italy, surely taking with him great memories and new friends.
Grazie a tutti e a presto! Thank you and see you soon! Hilversumsche CC 1 Email 29th May The hosts outplayed the visitors in all three departments and claimed a convincing victory by 6 wickets. Hengelo won the toss and decided to put the opposition in to bat. Rahim began the proceedings from the pavilion end with a maiden over. Akshay started a bit scratchy from the far end and bowled many wides.
